Highly acclaimed ensemble Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart (New Vocal Soloists) have won plaudits and fan across Europe and the USA over the past 20 years. Established as one of the leading contemporary classical ensemble in the world, this is their first UK tour, presenting works by four outstanding contemporary composers: Luciano Berio, Salvatore Sciarrino, Georges Aperghis and Lucia Ronchetti.

The ensemble, comprising six unconducted singers rangeing from coloratura soprano to basso profondo, bring their unique artistic creativity to the music of each composer. Central to their style is the exploration of new sounds and vocal techniques. For this tour they weave theatre into their performances to bring the music alive.

Berio's 1970's masterpiece "A-Ronne" is the focal point, painting asuccession of theatrical sound pictures, including love scenes, heartfelt confessions and a full-on battle. Aperghis' "Petrrohl" is virtuosic and witty, Sciarrino's "L'Alibi della parola" sensual and suggestive, whilst Ronchetti's "Anatra al sal" is a 21st century comic madrigal on the art of cooking.
