management'. This was the premise on which Haferkorn Associates
Ltd was founded in 1998. As a growth area within the classical music
business, contemporary music calls for a tailor-made approach. Many
festivals and concert series present contemporary music exclusively.
We are well aware of and connected with this international network
of 'new music promoters', which lies outside the range of most traditional
agencies.

An understanding of the immense and ever changing repertoire of contemporary
music and its requirements is a key element of the successful representation
of our artists. Our good relationships with a range of composers and publishers
are beneficial to our artists when it comes to the commissioning of new
works.
As the market for contemporary music is still comparatively small, we
believe that it is of vital importance to have a global approach to make
use of all opportunities, be they small or large scale. Thus we have set
up concerts under a wide range of circumstances from a small recital in
post-war Kosovo to high profile concerts at the Salzburger Festspiele.
Contemporary music might be on the fringe of the classical music business
but we believe that artists who have chosen a career in this field require
the same dedicated and professional management they would receive if they
were performing mainstream repertoire.
